CALL FOR THE ELECTION OF THE STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE TO THE UNAD FLORIDA BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

Requirements and qualifications.

To be a student representative on the Board of Directors of UNAD Florida, candidates must prove current enrollment in one of the formal academic programs offered by the sectional office; additionally, they must meet the following conditions:

  • Have completed at least forty percent (40%) of the academic credits of the respective program.
  • Have a minimum cumulative academic grade point average of three point five (3.5) certified by the competent unit at UNAD Florida.
  • Not have been criminally convicted or disciplinarily sanctioned, either in Colombia or in the United States of America.
  • Not have been academically and/or disciplinarily sanctioned, either in Colombia or in the United States of America.
  • Not be a student of UNAD Colombia

Student Representative Enrollment Requirements

By virtue of the foregoing, we kindly indicate the requirements and qualities that the candidate must have in order to be elected.

  • Candidate registration will be done through the online application located on the sectional intranet. Applicants must attach a digital cover letter, resume, programmatic proposal (in PDF format), and any other documentation proving they meet the call's requirements.
  • Registration will be open from June 23 to June 26, 2025.
  • The University's General Secretariat and Executive Directorate will verify that candidates meet the requirements and qualifications to be representatives between June 27 and June 30, 2025.
  • The list of admitted candidates who meet the specified requirements will be published on July 1, 2025.

The Board of Directors Convocation

The election of the Student Representative to the Board of Directors will proceed as follows: This call will be available to the general community on the university’s main website (http://www.unad.us) from June 16 to June 22, 2025.

Convocation

Requirements to apply are open from June 16 to June 22, 2025.

Enrollment

Enrollment will be from June 23 through June 26, 2025.

Nominees

Documentation verification for representatives will occur from June 27 to June 30, 2025, with final candidates named on July 1.

Voting

Voting to elect the student representative will be available online from July 2 to July 4, 2025.

FUNCTIONS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.


The term for Board of Directors members elected by vote is three (3) years, beginning from their inauguration. They’ll remain in their roles as long as they meet the required qualifications and until their replacements are appointed.

The elected student representative will perform the following functions:

  • Approve Administrative, Academic, and Financial Regulations: To adopt, develop, and approve the administrative, academic, and financial norms and procedures that will govern the UNAD Florida sectional office, in accordance with the guidelines and directives issued by the Superior Council of UNAD, and the applicable educational regulations in the State of Florida, United States of America.
  • Approve and Design Academic Programs: To approve, redesign, or discontinue academic programs offered at UNAD Florida, in compliance with the regulations governing the matter in the United States and the specific directives defined by the Superior Council of UNAD Colombia.
  • Establish Internal Regulations: To establish its own internal regulations.
  • Develop and Suggest Annual Budget: To develop and propose the annual budget for UNAD Florida for each fiscal year, which must be approved by the Superior Council and integrated within UNAD's Revenue and Expenditure Budget.
  • Elect Executive Director: To elect the Executive Director of UNAD Florida from a shortlist presented by the Rector of UNAD Colombia.
  • Appoint Executive Director: To appoint and swear in the Executive Director of the UNAD Florida sectional office.
  • Other Designated Functions: Any other functions designated by the State of Florida regulations and the UNAD Superior Council.
