UNAD Florida strives to give equal opportunity to all students in order to acquire a post-secondary education. Admission to an undergraduate program is open to students with a high school diploma, GED recipients, and home education graduates who have completed requirements in accordance with Florida statutes. Enrollment is also open to students transferring from another college or university.
UNAD Florida admits students based on academic preparation, institutional fit, and the student’s reasonable ability to complete and benefit from the program, as determined through the admission process. For that reason, our admissions policy requires an admission interview, which takes place before the prospective student applies for admission. UNAD Florida serves a predominantly Hispanic student population through an instructional model in which Spanish is the primary language of instruction. Because programs are delivered in Spanish, English proficiency is not an admission requirement; however, UNAD Florida offers an optional English Proficiency Encouragement Plan to support students’ long-term professional mobility.
As required by the Commission for Independent Education, students pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree Program at UNAD must successfully complete a minimum of 120 semester credit hours. In order to be admitted to an undergraduate program, prospective students must provide:
Note: UNAD Florida offers the English Proficiency Encouragement Plan as a voluntary initiative that provides diagnostic assessment, discounted English courses, and supplemental learning resources to strengthen students’ English-language skills. English proficiency is encouraged to enhance the employability and professional readiness of graduates, but is not required for admission, academic progression, or graduation. You can read more about it in the English Proficiency Encouragement Plan section of the catalog.
